HARPER LEE WAS BORN APRIL 28TH OF 1926. SHE IS MOST FAMOUS FOR HER NOVEL TO KILL A MOCKING BIRD, WHICH WAS INFLUENCED BY A STORY IN HER OWN TOWN ABOUT A BLACK MAN BEING INCORRECTLY ACCUSED OF RAPING A WOMAN. HER BOOK RECEIVED THE PULITZER AWARD, AND SHE LATER RECEIVED THE PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM. IN COLLEGE, HARPER WAS PART OF HER GLEE CLUB AND LITERACY HONORS SOCIETY. SHE ORIGINALLY WAS GOING TO PURSUE LAW, BUT INSTEAD PURSUED HER DREAM OF BECOMING A WRITER.
